FAQs

Have you read the IMA Member Website Manual and still have questions? Take a look here. These are many of the common questions we get from our members.

If you find you still have questions, send Technical Support an e-mail at support@imagroup.com.

Q. I am a new member. How can I retrieve my password?
A. If you signed up online, the system will give you your password at that time. If you completed a paper application, you will need to call in to retrieve your password or click "E-mail my password to me."

Q. How do I retrieve my password?
A. Go to your website, click "Member Login" and click "E-mail my password to me." The e-mail address will need to match the one we have on file. Then, the system will send your password to that e-mail address.

Q. How do I rotate a photo?
A. You will need some type of photo manipulation software to prepare your photo before you upload it to the site. You may want to consider something like Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Q. What types of photos can I upload?
A. The website supports .JPG and .GIF image uploads.

Q. What do the small boxes with a red "x" in it mean?
A. If you have checked that you want a photo on a particular page but you have not uploaded one, the website will put in this red "x" as a placeholder.

Q. How do I change my contact information?
A. When in the editing mode of your website, click on the "Contact Us" page and simply change the information. This ONLY changes the information on your website and not in our database.

Q. How can I prevent the text from running together?
A. The text automatically wraps itself. To prevent this, you'll want to format your text using HTML. The HTML code for a standard text break is <BR> Refer to our Member Website Manual for more information on HTML. You can find our Member Website Manual by logging into your website and choosing the "How to Edit My Website" link.

Q. How do I format text?
A. If you want to format your text, you will need to use some basic HTML tags. Refer to our Member Website Manual for more information on HTML. You can find our Member Website Manual by logging into your website and choosing the "How to Edit My Website" link.

Q. What fonts can I use?
A. The site defaults to Arial, but you can use HTML to change the font. However, it is best to only use Arial and Times Roman since they are the most universal fonts.

Q. How much HTML can I use?
A. The free website supports only basic HTML functions. See our Member Website Manual for more information on HTML. You can find our Member Website Manual by logging into your website and choosing the "How to Edit My Website" link. Remember that IMA Group Inc. may not be able to provide full technical support for extensive or advanced code.

Q. Can I link to other websites?
A. When creating a link using HTML, you must include unlinked text. In order to edit this information, you will have to click on the unlinked text. If you do fail to do this, every time you click to edit that link, you'll be taken to the linked website. We're currently working on a way to fix this problem, but in the meantime, be careful with your links!

Q. I want to add more techniques. What do I do?
A. IMA Group, Inc. has a member directory, which lists the member and his or her techniques. If you would like to add a technique to your listing, it is a $10 charge for the first three, $20 charge for up to seven. You can add it by using the Member Update Form located in your Member Handbook. If you would just like to add techniques within your own free, personal website, there is no charge.

Q. Can I add more pages?
A. The website has a limited number of pages, but an unlimited amount of space within each page.

Q. Why does every page display my contact information?
A. When you activate a page, the website automatically places your contact information on that page as a placeholder. Once you place your own
information on that page, the contact information will disappear from that particular page. The Contact Us link will always display your contact information and you can change it at any time.

Q. Does the free website support E-Commerce?
A. At this time, E-Commerce is not a standard feature.

Q. Can I register my own domain name?
A. Yes. Registering a domain name makes it easier for clients to remember your website. GoDaddy.com is a great source for domain names. Once you have purchased a domain you would like, just visit your account with GoDaddy (or wherever you purchased the name) and set up a domain name forwarding/transfer to your IMA website address.

Q. Can I link my unused domain name to my free website?
A. Yes. Linking your unused domain name will not only make it easier for clients to find you, it also allows you to have a professional looking site, made by you! You can access your account wherever you purchased the name and use a domain name forwarding/transfer to your IMA website address.

Q. I already have domain name with a completed website. Can I link my domain name to my free website?
A. Yes. There is no charge to link your free website to your existing website. You'll need to add some javascript to your domain name's home page. Use a direct link, which will not allow you to edit your free website by entering the javascript code below:

<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- window.location = "http://www.mywebsite.com/" //--> </script> Remember to enter the correct domain name! Once you save the change, your IMA website will automatically direct to your existing website.

Q. I have recently changed my e-mail, what do I need to do?
A. E-mail customer service at info@imagroup.com and we'll change your e-mail address in our system to match. This way, if you lose your password, it can be e-mailed to your new address.

Q. I registered a domain name and now have it hooked up to my IMA website. Can I change my e-mail address to reflect the domain name?
A. If you would like to have email associated with your domain name, example: mary@marysmith.com, you may want to contact wherever you originally purchased the domain name to see if this is a service they offer. If you purchased your domain name through FocusedWeb Domains, you can set up an account at http://www.everyone.net and tell them you will be using your own domain name. They will give you DNS information for their email servers for example:

Sitemail.everyone.net
Sitemail2.everyone.net
Siteurl.everyone.net

Send this email DNS information to support@imagroup.com and Focused Web will add it to their DNS servers so your email will work with the everyone.net system. We recommend everyone.net because they do our email along with 30 million other users. They have very extensive virus and spam filtering along with a very reasonable price for their Personal Email Accounts.

Q. How can my website show up in a search engine?
A. Search engines constantly look through the Internet for webpages. However, it may take some time for search engines to find you. It is good to go to that particular search engine and submit your site. Also, do a little research on Search Engine Optimization, web site promotion or search engine positioning for some helpful tips to get your site listed. However, our web technicians are working on a way to internally improve our member's presence on search results.

Q. Can the website support PayPal?
A. The website should accept PayPal. PayPal accounts provide an HTML code. Copy and paste that code onto your website. Remember that IMA Group Inc. may not be able to provide full technical support for extensive or advanced code, especially with third-party code such as PayPal, YouTube or music players.
